BYU has a podcast called “In Good Faith” that covers a variety of perspectives on faith. I recorded an episode back in the fall and it recently came out titled, “Spirituality on the Spectrum.” It just went live. As the podcast is produced by Brigham Young University, it is obviously not Catholic. However, it is quite ecumenical / interfaith and not specifically Mormon (I checked when they contacted me).
I hope this podcast episode helps others to include autistics in faith communities. The exact details are not clear in my memory as it was recorded so long ago. I remember that I was happy with the podcast recording when we did it, and we had too many back-and-forth emails trying to schedule the episode.
Here is a link to Spotify, and here it is embedded.
My first focus is on helping autistic Catholics but some of my work applies to other Christians as well. I find it good to help them out even if we don’t agree on every theological point. For example, I will be presenting at an Orthodox disability conference in Boston in May.
Let’s help all Christians and all religious people include autistics.
